People, especially when being selfish, tend to rely on the “I told you so” mantra whenever someone expresses unwanted emotions. Usually those words are followed by some sort of reiteration of the person knowing “what it is” after expressing dissatisfaction about the relationship. “I told you so” comes in many forms:
“I told you I didn’t want to date.”
“I told you I just wanted sex.”
“I told you I didn’t want (insert very natural desire given circumstances of the arrangement here).
