You know what we are really great at? Making excuses for the piss poor treatment we receive by the ones we love. All of the signs that they do not value or respect us are there, yet we “hope” that things get better because we “love” them.
“Perhaps we should love ourselves so fiercely, that when others see us they know exactly how it should be done.” – Josh Billings I hate to say it, but the above quote isn’t all the way true. Sometimes your dog loves you more than you love yourself. And that sucks.
It’s very appealing to fit in. To be what someone wants you to be just so you can get what you want. But we have to remember that being YOU always trumps any other person that you’re pretending to be.
